Camphor

Our natural origin camphor is extracted through steam distillation from the wood of the camphor tree. Camphor has a sharp, penetrating, cooling odor often described as fresh, herbal, woody, and slightly smoky reminiscent of eucalyptus, menthol, or pine resin. It adds brightness, clarity, and a sense of fresh air or cleanliness to perfume compositions and incense.

Burning camphor is central to Vedic rituals and symbolizes purity and selflessness, dispelling the darkness of ignorance and opening oneself up to divine light and blessings. The fragrance is believed to purify the air, repel negative energies, and elevate the spiritual atmosphere. Camphor’s strong, clean aroma has both spiritual and practical effects. The fragrance is said to attract positive vibrations or dispel negativity. Its vapors disinfect the air, thanks to natural anti-microbial properties and insect repelling properties – a practical benefit in ancient temples and homes. In Ayurveda, camphor’s cooling and aromatic nature is used to calm the mind and reduce excess fire in the body (heat, anger, and agitation).

Usage: Camphor can be vaporized by adding a small amount into an essential oil diffuser with water or oil. A small camphor crystal can be placed in a closet or any other room.

Important: Use a small amount of camphor and remember to ventilate the room.
